ABOUT

Katarína Mojžišová was born 10.08.1996 in the Brezno, city from Slovakia. Ever since she was a little girl, she has always had a huge interest in signing. Her family has inspired and shaped her passion in traditional folklore songs from the different regions of Slovakia. Katarina attended Primary Art school in Brezno, where she was a regular contestant at the various music competitions both in a solo signing or as a member of the singing choir.

Later in 2011, Katarina started her studies at J. L. Bella Conservatory under a supervision of Prof. Maria Tomanova ArtD. She completed her studies with the absolutorium, having her final performance at National Opera Theatre in Banska Bystrica, Slovakia. During her studies, Katarina was taking part in many music contests among different Conservatories, as well as international competitions. She was also an active member of singing choirs. Katarina often performed as a solo singer when working with the various conservatory choirs and the girls singing choir called Cambiar la Musica.

In 2016 and 2017, Katarina closely worked on a recording of radio Devin, where she sang the aria „In uomini insoldati“ from Cosi fan tutte opera (W.A. Mozart), as well as „Caro nome del mio cor“ from Rigoletto opera (G. Verdi).

In 2017 Katarina started her studies at Academy of Art in Banska Bystrica under a supervision of Prof. Maria Tomanova ArtD. She also completed the Erasmus program at Conservatory in Terni, Italy where she closely worked under a supervision of Ambra Vespasiani. She attended various courses within a different area, and she teamed up with the local conductors and directors (Massimo Gulatieri, Lorenzo Turchi Floris, Adriana Morelli), to make her experience even more valuable. Katarina performed at the concerts and studied specific performing parts of Luciedi Lamermoor character from Lucia di Lamermoor opera written by music composer G. Donizettiho.

In the school performances of the Academy of Arts and the opera studies, Katarina performed characters as a Queen of the night from Magic Flute opera, Zerlina from Don Giovanni, Suzanna and Barbarina from Nozze di Figaro, First nymph from Rusalka, Despina from Cosí fan Tutte and DewmanfromHänsel und Gretel.

Since 2023, Katarina has been working in National Opera theatre in Banská Bystrica in the performances The magic flute as a first boy, and Rusalka as a cook.

In 2019, she successfully completed number of masterful courses under a supervision of prof. Valentina Vadokliene (Litvenia) and prof. Aurelio Canonici (Italy). Katarina is currently expanding her knowledge and improving her singing skills and art in a close collaboration with a coloratura soprano Maria Laura Martorana.

In 2022, She successfully got third price from international singers competition Rudolf Petrák, (Žilina, Slovakia), as a semifinalist she sang in IV European opera competition Torino in the World (Turin, Italy), and she got fourth price from IUVENTUS CANTI singers competition (Vráble, Slovakia).

In 2022, She graduated master degree with honors and Dean´s award for thesis and art performance in Academy of arts in Banská Bystrica (Slovakia).

In 2024, she successfully completed Belcanto Accademy Trentino young artist program, with final performance Gianni Schicchi (G. Puccini), as a role Nella and Lauretta.
