Georgios Filadelfefs was born in 1979 in Athens. He started playing the piano at the age of 11. Three years later, he enrolled with a scholarship at the National Conservatory “Manolis Kalomiris” – Athens in the class led by Irini Beka while simultaneously attending singing lessons with the soprano Maria Koromadzou. After graduating, he continued studying with the great Greek pianist Maria Herogiorgou-Sigara. In 1996, he won his first piano contest in Greece. Two years later, he moved to Bulgaria where he specialized in piano at the Bulgarian National Music Academy in the class led by the Bulgarian pianist and pedagogue Jenny Zaharieva. He continued studying opera singing at the same time with the tenors Stoyan Kissiov and Georgi Kuzmanov. In 2004, he graduated his Master’s degree in piano and in 2006 – his Master’s degree in opera singing with Professor Svilen Raichev. He has in his repertoire 30 piano concertos and 40 operatic roles of all styles and periods. His first singing performance was in a little role in the musical by Lionel Bart “Oliver Twist” in 1996. In 2005, he gave his debut as a tenor with the role of Mario Cavaradossi in Tosca. Since then, he has sung main roles in the following operas: Don Pasquale, Acis and Galatea, Die Fledermaus, Cavalleria Rusticana, Pagliacci, Boris Godunov, Katerina Izmailova, Romeo and Juliet, I Capuleti e i Montecchi, La Traviata, La Boheme, il Barbiere di Siviglia,Wilhelm Tell, Aida, Les contes d’Hoffmann, Nose, La Voix Humaine, Destiny for two, etc. His oratory repertoire includes Handel’s Messiah, Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, Bach’s Cantate 147, Orff’s Catulli Carmina, and Carmina Burana. He is a laureate of international piano contests such as the Grand Prix Maria Callas – Athens, Seiler – Sofia, Maurice Saltiel – Thessaloniki and many others. He has been awarded a medal for his music activities by the mayor of Athens and the National Bank of Greece (Premium). Mr. Filadelfefs has toured around Greece, Cyprus, Spain, Portugal, Serbia, Germany, Ukraine, Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland and Hungary. He has performed as a pianist and singer in concert halls like: Megaron and Pallas – Athens, Aristotelion – Thessaloniki, Palau de la Musica – Barcelona, Auditorio Nacional and Teatro de la Zarzuela – Madrid, Ferenz Liszt Concert Hall – Budapest, Bulgaria Hall – Sofia, Open Air Theaters in Nicosia and Nish – Serbia. He has been a soloist of many symphony orchestras and chamber ensembles, such as the Sofia and Rousse Philharmonic Orchestras, Sofia Music Theater Orchestra (Concert Program MEDITERRANEO, 2015), Tutti Soli Chamber Orchestra, Iasi Philharmonic, Cyprus and Athens Philharmonic, State Philharmonic Orchestra of Ukraine, “INSO” – Lvov, Philharmonic Orchestras of Volgograd and Dnepropetrovsk, Stara Zagora Orchestra (Songs by Mikis Theodorakis 2019), and Vratsa Simfonietta (Songs from Mediterranean 2020-2021). Filadelfefs had collaborations as a tenor with Opera theaters in Varna (Carmina Burana ,Catulli Carmina 2014-2015, Falstaff, 2015), Sofia Opera House (Destiny for two by Alexander Jossifov 2007), Rousse Opera House (Die Fledermaus , Katerina Izmailova by Shostakovich and Mozart’s Don Giovanni, 2014-2016), etc. From 2002 he has performed many concert programs alongside pianist Valentina Vassileva and from 2010 – he is a member of the concert tour “Die Himmlische Nacht der Tenöre” including antique arias, Lieder, Canzonettes, operatic arias, classical songs with piano and chamber orchestra. Mr. Filadelfefs is the first tenor- sopranist worldwide who performed the Mono-opera by Francis Poulenc and Jean Cocteau “The Human Voice” in “Sfumato” Theater in 2020. He gave the world premiere of the contemporary opera “Fire in the Sails of the Night” by the Greek composer Giorgos Minas in Stara Zagora. Being an ambassador of the music by Mikis Theodorakis, he performed an integral of his piano works in the Greek National Radio and in the Museum “Boris Christoff” in Sofia. He recorded five compact discs, giving tribute to Greek contemporary composers, and a rare compact disc with Armenian songs next to soprano Flora Kazandjian. From 2016, Georgios Filadelfefs is a guest artist at the Greek National Radio’s Online Concerts with piano and vocal recitals. In the years 2019-2020, he collaborated with the soprano Irini Beka for “Hommage à Dalida” program, including 40 songs from the repertoire of the great Egyptian star. From 2019, he is the principal conductor of the Mixed Choir “Dobri Chintulov” Sliven.
