Javier Carrillo Rivas is a tenor from Temuco, Chile. He has performed several concerts interpreting chamber music, oratorio and opera. He has performed in venues such as Auditorio Armando Duffey Blanc, Aula Magna Universidad Católica de Temuco, Aula Magna Universidad Alberto Hurtado, Teatro Municipal de Temuco, Centro Cultural Gabriela Mistral (GAM), Centro Cultural El Austral de Valdivia, Teatro San Ginés, Teatro Cervantes de Valdivia and 52° Semanas musicales de Frutillar. She was a soloist in G.F. Handel’s Messiah and semi-finalist in the 3rd edition of the International Opera Competition Chile-Italy of the Associazione Amici della Musica. He has performed with notable figures of national music such as the band Los Jaivas in their symphonic tour of 12 concerts in the Region of Los Ríos and in the reinauguration of the Cervantes Theatre in Valdivia with the Chilean soprano Verónica Villarroel. She began her singing studies at the Catholic University of Temuco and continued them at the Alberto Hurtado University in Santiago. His main singing teachers have been Isabel Bambaren Vigil, Ivoshka Tello León and Pablo Salas Moya. For two consecutive years he has won scholarships awarded by the Williams Foundation, The Thistle Trust, Juventus Lyrica (Argentina) and the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Municipality of Jaragùa do Sul (Brazil). Active student of masterclasses with maestros Alexandra Aubert, Graciela Araya, André dos Santos, Armando Noguera, Darío Schmunck, Alejandra Malvino, and Cristina Gallardo-Domas among others. She also took part in the Intensive Workshop “Melodies de Gabriel Fauré” where she studied the historical context, diction and life of the composer with André dos Santos in Brazil.
